From April 19 to 20, 2006, the Institute cooperated with the China Reform Forum (CRF) and the US Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) to sponsor a conference titled “China’s Peaceful Development and the Future of China-U.S. Relations” in Seattle, America. Top Chinese and U.S. experts, scholars and dignitaries including Mr. Zheng Bijian, Chairman of CRF, Mr. Li Junru, Vice President of the CPC Central Party School, Dr. Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State and Gen. Brent Scowcroft, former US National Security Advisor participated in the discussions. Chinese President Hu Jintao, who was in a state visit to the U.S., met with scholars and experts attending the conference on April 19.
