As more young lawmakers supportive of localism and self-determination have been elected to the new Legislative Council (LegCo), the themes which have dominated Hong Kong’s political movements for 30 years, namely democracy and universal suffrage, may gradually give way to localism and self-determination to redefine the relationship between the Mainland and Hong Kong.
