The Establishment of China-Bhutan Diplomatic Ties Facing Indian Barriers

The formal establishment of China-Bhutan diplomatic relations is in Bhutan’s favor. However, due to India’s mighty influence over Bhutan, China-Bhutan border issues which involve India’s strategic interests and some other restraining factors, it will not be a walk in the park for China and Bhutan to build diplomatic ties in the short term.
