A Preliminary Study of EU’s Inclusion of Aviation in EU ETS

The substantial purposes of EU’s inclusion of international aviation in EU ETS lie in utilizing the model of unilateral industrial emission reduction to promote international environmental hegemony and cementing the carbon market to establish euro hegemony, which in the end trickle down to its economic interests. This unilateral behavior might trigger legal conflicts, restrain the development of international aviation and throw out a challenge to the capacity building of developing countries.
