It has been fifteen years since China introduced the policy for party and political leaders may not hold office for more than two terms in ten years. A new generation of Chinese leaders will come into power next year. It is expected that China’s Vice President Xi Jinping will receive the baton from President Hu Jintao and take up the reins of power as the Secretary-General of the Communist Party and the President of China.
