Vietnam and China engage in ongoing sovereignty disputes over certain islands, so Vietnam reasonably teams up with America in light of America’s desire to counterbalance China in the South China Sea. Growing signs show that Vietnam and America are likely to start military dialogs with a possibility of military cooperation.
