In spite of different systems and national conditions in the two countries, China could still draw on the experience of the United States to address its own housing issues and identify potential risks by comparing U.S.’s housing policies during a recession with China’s measures amid economic boom. To tackle an acute housing shortage, it is necessary for the government, apart from taking effective economic measure, to leverage on the comprehensive and forward-looking political wisdom, break the deadlock, clear the way ahead and push forward China’s economy under the guidance of the country’s twelfth five-year plan.
